Historic Herefordshire. Wedding venues with a view.

Herefordshire, with its stunning natural backdrop, is the perfect border county for Birtsmorton Court. The unspoilt land of this rural region lends itself to agriculture. Herefordshire is well known for its fruit and cider production and some of the best known brands are produced here. You only have to take a drive on the Cider Route during the late summer and see the abundance of apples to know why.

Head west from Birtsmorton Court and you will quickly find the historic town of Ledbury. The main street in this charming market town is lined with a number of timber framed buildings and black and white architecture. At the centre of the town, popular hotel The Feathers is one such example of these attractive buildings and is a great option for overnight accommodation after a wedding at Birtsmorton Court. There are a number of other hotels in Ledbury too, making it a great base for guests.

The Royal Forest of Dean can be found on the edge of the county of Herefordshire. Popular destination Symonds Yat, offers plenty for visitor’s to do, including canoeing, rock climbing and walking.  It’s an easy place to while away the time watching the world go by, you might even see some of the famous nesting peregrine falcons there too.

A little further afield and you will encounter the scenic town of Hay on Wye, known for its popular festival, when some of the best in the literature world descend on the town. If you are looking to spend some time surrounded by patchwork fields, independent bookshops, coffee shops and restaurants, Hay on Wye is an excellent place to spend a day or two.
