A Foxy Wedding

A June Wedding with a gorgeous couple, glorious sunshine and copious amounts of Gin.

Here to tell you all about their stunning wedding at Birtsmorton Court, the new

Mr & Mrs Fox!

The Proposal

Mr Fox: I popped the questions in Iceland! I arranged for a Huskey ride in the snow just outside of Reykjavik. I asked the sleigh driver to stop halfway around the route, and proposed along with 12 Huskeys! Hayley loves animals so I always wanted to somehow link it to animals. That’s only half the story though! Because Iceland had warmer than usual weather the day before our Huskey ride, our ride was almost cancelled, and the proposal ruined. Luckily on the morning of the ride, I got a text to say it was still on! (Phew).

Finding the Perfect Venue

Mr & Mrs Fox: We immediately started looking for a venue, and Hayley spent a lot of time googling ‘Top 10 wedding venues in the UK’ and browsing Hitched – it was on hitched where she discovered Birtsmorton Court. We both loved the pictures we saw. It was the first venue that we looked at, and the last – we liked the fact it had so many different spaces for different parts of the day and fell in love with the moated manor house, and the beautiful gardens. It’s like no venue we had been to before and felt it was so unique!

Mr & Mrs Fox: Despite neither us being particularly religious, Hayley always wanted a Church wedding. This was another big reason for selecting Birtsmorton court as it has a Church within the grounds, we felt it was beautiful and intimate.

Blooming Marvelous

Mrs Fox: When choosing our florist, we wanted to pick someone who created flowers that had more of a unique, wild feel rather than the generic flowers you normally see at weddings. We chose Faye from Rural floral because we loved her Instagram and loved the fact she grows her own flowers! We showed her various images we had collated from Pinterest and our colour schemes and gave her free reign as long as my bouquet was free-flowing and loose and matched our colours.  I also loved the idea of having female pheasant feathers in my bouquet as it was so different! When the flowers turned up on the morning of the wedding I cried! They were so perfect and much more than I ever imagined – Faye did an amazing job and would definitely recommend her!

Before Hayley could make her way over to the church, there was one person she had to say hello to. Cue Dad

We’re not crying. You’re crying

Walking into your wedding reception like…

Photos, Gin & Nibbles

Hayley and Scott started their drinks reception out on Birtsmorton Court’s iconic Terrace with sweeping views of the Malvern Hills.

Mr Fox: The Sax was meant to be a surprise for Hayley, but it’s just impossible to keep secrets from her.

After a while guests made their way over to The White Garden for more photos and yes, even more gin!

The change in scenery also brought with it a change in music

Hayley and Scott had the chance to catch a few quiet moments together and boy, these photos did not disappoint!

Let’s take a moment to talk about the talent behind these photos, the wonderful Jasmine Andrews.

Mr & Mrs Fox: Our friends Jack (Best Man) and his wife recommended Jasmine to us, as she is a friend of theirs. We immediately fell in love with her unique style on her Instagram. This was one of the best decisions we made, the photos are absolutely stunning and there’s no doubt Jasmine is extremely talented and has a very bright future ahead of her in wedding photography.

Jasmine was such an incredible supplier to work with and it’s not hard to see that her why Scott and Hayley fell instantly in love with her images.

Meanwhile, down at the marquee…

Mr & Mrs Fox: Because we had 18 months to plan, we really wanted to focus on every little detail, and make the day completely unique to any other wedding we had been to in the past – We knew what props we wanted to hire to enable us to do this (Gin Trolley, Vintage Bike etc), but we got carried away and added a new prop pretty much every month running up to the wedding, to our order!

Hayley & Scott’s choice of props looked so beautiful inside Birtsmorton Court’s elegant marquee.

Speech!

Mr Fox: I’m used to public speaking in my line of work, but that didn’t stop me getting emotional, it turned out to be more difficult than I’d envisaged! To be honest I was more nervous to hear my best men’s speeches.

That seems fair Scott…

Although maybe you weren’t the only one who should have been nervous!

The Power of John Lewis

Mr & Mrs Fox: Our first dance song was Gabrielle Aplin – The Power of Love. We both just love this song, first really recognising it from the John Lewis advert that year!

And well, the rest is Birtsmorton Court history…

It is fair to say that Scott and Hayley’s wedding was not only wonderfully unique but also an exceptionally beautiful day for everyone involved.

Eager to find out what their secret to success is, we asked what their top three tips to newly engaged couples would be.

Mr & Mrs Fox

Give yourselves plenty of time to plan – there is more to plan than you think, and spending time planning all of the little details that make the difference takes time!

Think about spending your budget on things your guests will remember – for instance, we put a lot of our budget towards things like music and props, and spent a little less on things like flowers (the Birtsmorton gardens had enough of these anyway).

Think about how you can make your day unique and original!

And our final question…

The best part of your wedding?

Scott: Seeing Hayley walk down the aisle

Hayley: I honestly couldn’t choose a favourite part – I just loved having all our friends and family together in one place for the day! It was just so magical from start to finish! As my brother said ‘it was honestly the best weekend of my entire life!’

Memories to last a lifetime! If I could give one bit of advice to future couples getting married – step back at parts of the day and make sure you try and take it all in – I’m so glad we did that! Here’s to the future as Mrs Fox!

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

Thank you so much for letting Birtsmorton Court be part of your beautiful day.

To the new Mr & Mrs Fox!

Lots of love,

Birtsmorton Court
